David MacPherson was born in Peru, where his parents served as missionaries with the Free Church of Scotland. He was a pupil at Colegio San Andrés in Lima before the family returned to Scotland, where David completed a masters’ degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Aberdeen and a Diploma in Theology from the Edinburgh Theological Seminary. David served for 10 years as a Free Church missionary in the San Martín region of Peru. Prior to his position with Operación San Andrés, David served as Minister of Bon Accord Free Church in Aberdeen, Scotland. David holds dual citizenship (UK and Peru) and is thoroughly bicultural, having lived in Peru for much of his life. David’s wife Martha is a native of Peru, and they are proud parents of three grown sons.
