In response to the severe hardship produced by the pandemic and resulting economic crisis, Operación San Andrés (OSA) launched an emergency relief program that has focused its attention on providing emergency food supplies to around 50 soup kitchens that have sprung up across Collique. These soup kitchens provide one nutritious meal a day to around 3,000 of the neediest folks in Collique.

On the 8th of December 2021, in a ceremony attended by local municipal dignitaries and Congressman Carlos Anderson, these efforts were formally recognized as OSA was presented with a certificate and medal of distinction in thanks for its service to the neediest in Collique. Noe Olortegui, our emergency relief coordinator, and David MacPherson, our Executive Director, represented OSA at the ceremony.

We are grateful to all our friends and supporters whose gifts have made possible our relief efforts. This honor also corresponds to you.
